The RSC Management Group and the Industry & Technology Forum
28 April 2004 - Creating Business through Trading Technology.

Companies have in recent years radically changed their internal structures, with R&D functions having either been downsized and/or forced to recognise that the acquisition of key technologies cannot follow traditional pathways. However, it remains that in the absence of state of the art technology, companies cannot compete in the market place or realise shareholder value, and stagnation becomes the most optimistic option. The nature of the chemical industry itself has also changed, with many familiar names no longer existing due to mergers and acquisitions and many of those which are currently recognisable, being merely transient. Under such circumstances, those organisations whose research departments can adapt to the new ways of acquiring information and key technologies will be the ones to survive.

In this latest in the highly successful "Creating Business Through" series we will focus on developments in trading technology, such as the use of internet based technology acquisition engines. The meeting will also cover specialised companies and the latest generation of university spin outs. As always, we have assembled a number of experts in the field to help guide you through some of the opportunities available and advise you on where to focus your resources to ensure the technology out there can be made available to your company.
